Correspondence re mines 1921-1942.

These seven folders contain correspondence to and from Emma E. Fairhurst regarding mines in the Ward mining district of Boulder County in which Mrs. Fairhurst had an interest. Most of the correspondence refers to the Mermaid lode mining claims 1, 2, and 3, and much of it involves Joseph K. Pippert of Gallup, New Mexico, who often visited Ward in the summer. A few notes of Emma Fairhurst also are with the correspondence.

Henry Orestes Andrew was born in Boulder on 23 November 1874, and died in 1949. His parents arrived in Boulder in 1870 from southwestern Pennsylvania, after a short stay in Illinois. His father served as a county commissioner in Boulder County. Henry Andrew attended the White Rock country school, and then the Boulder public schools.
